Auxiliary Fort
Auxiliary fort located above modern village of Ram. Fort defended strategic river crossing, that is still in use today. It has all phases from 1st to 7th century and was continuously occupied throughout antiquity.
There was a strong possibility that Trajan’s invasion force crossed here on pontoon bridge into Dacia in 101 AD, what was depicted on the first scenes at the Trajan’s Column in Rome.
